Lerins advised the Huguier family on the sale of Huguier Frères, a specialist in the processing of meat products, to Alliance, a federation of agri-food SMEs owned by Cobevial.
As part of this sale, the Huguier family, through its representatives Agathe and Alexandre Huguier, retains operational management and 15% of the company’s shares, together with a third family member.
Following a competitive process, this operation will support the dynamic growth of the family group based in Troyes, whose revenues are expected to reach 30 M€ in 2023, notably through the expertise of Alliance / Cobevial, which oversees some forty small and medium-sized agri-businesses and generates over 1 M€ in sales, in terms of operational practices and quality processes.
Founded in 1901 and now employing 150 people, Huguier Frères supplies wholesalers, school caterers and delicatessens. Claiming a premium, local, short-distance positioning that respects animal welfare, the group also offers products for individual consumers in seven boutiques located in the Grand-Est region of France. Its strategy of controlling its distribution channels – “from breeder to consumer” – enables it to sell 100% of its processed raw materials.
The Lerins team involved in this transaction alongside the Huguier family consisted of Guillaume Jarry, partner, and Laetitia Cachin, associate.
