Lerins assisted Olivier Thibert (co-founder) and the shareholders of Goot, a French company pioneering the development of BtoB e-commerce solutions for the food and beverage distribution industry, in its sale to the Choco unicorn.
As part of this sale to the world leader in digital solutions for the food supply chain, Olivier Thibert will retain a key role in the operational management of Goot, ensuring continuity for his customers, who will now benefit from the innovative solutions offered by Choco, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
With 10 years’ experience under its belt, Goot now has more than 200 customers, including major players in independent distribution, and 30,000 daily users from the bakery and catering sectors, who rely on Goot’s innovative solutions to place orders with their suppliers. The company handles more than €500 million worth of transactions every year in the food, beverage and milling sectors.
The deal brings together two leading players in their markets, enabling Goot and Choco to combine their expertise and technologies to create a complete ecosystem of digital solutions for wholesalers and their customers.
The Lerins team involved in this transaction with Olivier Thibert and the Goot shareholders consisted of Marc Gervais, avocat counsel, on the corporate aspects, and Stéphanie Nègre, partner, on the tax aspects.
