On the eve of the second round of the French legislative elections, and with more than half the world’s population set to vote in 2024, Mathilde Tech Data – IP Partner at Lerins, reflects for Le Monde du Droit on the importance of questioning the use of voice, video and image-generating AI  in political campaigns and their impact on democracy.

“It is our collective responsibility to ensure that AI is used in accordance with regulations, ethically and transparently, in order to preserve the very foundations of our democracy. Concrete examples of abuses must spur us to act quickly and firmly. The same applies to the field of creation, so that it does not become a thing of the past…”.
