Update on the latest days of hearings in the Pelicot Case, in which our partner Antoine Camus is representing Gisèle Pelicot and her family.

On Monday, September 30, the trial, known as the “Mazan Rapes” case, entered its fifth week before the Avignon Criminal Court.

The hearings resumed, focusing on the examination of the co-defendants’ personalities, as well as the presentation of images and videos submitted as key evidence in the case.

While a full closed-door trial was dismissed on the first day, the court president nevertheless regulated the display of the images. As a result, he decided to exclude the public and the press from the latest presentations and the debates that followed at the end of last week.

As Antoine Camus emphasized in the France 5 documentary “En société,” this trial is “historic because it is public, in accordance with the wishes of Gisèle Pelicot, who wanted it to be so in order to spark change.”
